Bone breaks/repairs
I watched "The Body Machine" on the Discovery channel with my son the other day-what a great show. It explains basic physiology in a fun way.
One of the topics was bones. It was really fun to learn how we're born with more bones then we grow up with, how the skeleton is not permanent, but is constantly breaking and rebuilding. If we live to eighty, the body will have broken down and rebuilt 8-12 completely new skeletons! It takes the body approximately 9 years to rebuild a skeleton. Also, the bones manufacture our precious blood.
Cool stuff.
