Out of the closet
Speaking of skeletons reminded me that I've been wanting to post about coming out of the closet with-believe it or not-almost everyone now.
Being a raw vegan certainly has its challenges, not the least of which is social interaction.
As I've grown better and better at the living practice, knowledge and experience of this lifestyle I've acquired more confidence about telling people about it.
My latest hurdle has been work. People are naturally very curious and ask me lots of questions in the lunchroom. I've been pleasantly surprised by most people's casual, nonchalant acceptance of my eating habits. Most comments are positive and questions are curious, not judgmental in nature. I do give arguments in favor of my diet and lifestyle that not everyone agrees with, but it has never escalated to anything remotely hostile.
Many people ask to try my exotic fruits which they in turn purchase occasionally. This pleases me to no end because I know it's a positive influence on them and at the very least makes them stop to think about the possibilities.
People are also quite impressed with my energy levels, mostly cheery disposition and the fact that I never need to take a sick day. As a funny aside- I used to be jokingly known as "She can't poo", now half an hour to 45 minutes after each meal I'm off the bathroom to do my business. Now, my coworkers jokingly say they can set their watches to my digestive schedule. People do notice and although changing habits is VERY difficult and there's lots of misinformation out there, our actions speak very loudly.

Congrats!!!
Thank you so much for your support! I was thinking of recording my calories, but didn't start yet. I'm not too keen on fatty stuff (not a big fan of avocado, coconut meat, etc.), but I am a bit afraid of losing too much weight. I have been craving salt though.
On the other hand, just now my husband was telling me he might consider fruitarianism for a while and I am elated!! If he really does it will help A LOT! Even if in practice he doesn't start for a while, just the fact that he said it out loud (something I never thought possible) is wonderful!
Once again thanks for the support!!
Andrea
