About Me

My photo
My life's purpose is best described by: Be the change you want to see in the world: Gandhi. Smiling is my "botox"-FORGET THE DRUGS AND SURGERY. I spice up my life, not my diet, which is SIMPLY DELICIOUS on its own. KISS: I Keep it simple sugars-from whole, fresh, ripe, raw, organic fruits (veggies, some nuts/seeds too). The 811rv motto is: simplicity at mealtime, variety throughout the year. My motto is: I live in my own little world, but it's ok they all know me there. At some point, you have to realize that some people can stay in your heart, but not in your life.

I can't believe that you can get these in Quebec. Is there a Chinatown in Quebec? I'll have to look for a similar store when I get to Montreal. I bet they're expensive though. Especially compared to Asia, but far less than eating a poor diet and getting sick. Enjoy your treasures.

i have a question for you, do you know if dr. d has responded to this article anywhere?
http://www.drfuhrman.com/faq/question.aspx?sid=16&qindex=4

it's from dr. fuhrman, talking about the benefits of eating some cookied (steam veggies, etc...)

Thanks guys!

Sarah, I would love to have you as well as my other 811 friends over for a potluck or something. Wouldn't it be so cool if we lived close by? Not that I'd share my longans with you however. As for favourites, they change with the seasons-right now I'm loving my figs.

Annie, I'm not sure if Dr. D has responded specifically to that article, but it is pretty obvious that Dr. Fuhrman is confusing the high fat raw with 811rv when he talks about fungal infections etc. Dr. D has covered this specifically in his book. Also, Dr. Fuhrman does seem to be shifting focus lately. He went to last year's raw festival and he's spoken on Raw vegan radio-he is definitely promoting more raw although he's not 100% yet. Hopefully, he'll get there soon because his patients would benefit immensely.

I read a response (if not several) from Dr. D to this. Obviously we all know that the high fat raw fooders are stuck on this enzyme thing which is completely bogus. We digest all foods with our own enzymes all the time and never use the ones in the food for digestion. We just use them as nutrients. Many of the benefits of cooking he talked about are for inedible foods in the raw state like potatoes, beans, yams, etc. We all know Dr. D doesn't include these in his diet. Even the 2 other cooking benefits, lycopene and beta carotene are possibly more bio-available after cooking but there is certainly enough of it available in the raw state, more is not necessarily better. Also there is more of these 2 nutrients available with the loss of numerous others. A lose lose situation in every case. Eat 811 and demonstrate to Dr. Fuhrman he is very wrong.
