Staying raw while traveling
Have spoon, will travel.
I'm off on a big trip tomorrow that I'm very excited about. My father has always dreamed of visiting Israel. With his health being so poor, he can no longer travel on his own. I'm the lucky person that gets to go with him on his trip!
The itinerary is as follows: 1) Chimp Sanctuary
2)European cruise for 2 weeks visiting Greece, Turkey, Egypt, Israel, Cyprus and then Italy
3)Farm sanctuary
For me, the toughest part will most likely be the cruise because I won't have much independence to buy my own food.
I've taken some precautions beforehand. First off, I've called the cruise line and asked for a fridge in my room and for extra organic fruit to be served. Next, I'm bringing along some tupper-ware to be able to prepare my meals in advance for the land excursions (thank you MM for the suggestions). I'll stock up on fruit and greens the night before. I've also planned in advance how I'm going to tackle this by doing some internet searching about markets in the places I'll be visiting to be able do some of my own shopping.
Right now, the most important thing for me to do is make a list reminding me of my motives for staying raw during this trip.
a) I want to enjoy this trip to the fullest. I don't want to be dragged down with low energy, bouts of constipation, headaches, bloating etc. that will prevent me from being my best at all times. I know that even small amounts of cooked food, especially salty, oily fare have these negatives effects on me. I don't want to spend anytime having to recuperate from a meal. Life is too short. I might never make it back to these beautiful places and I don't want to miss a thing.
b) I want to be fully present and healthy for my family, especially my dad, since this trip is very important to him. Seeing him so sick truly motivates me to stick to 811rv or that could very easily be me one day.
c) I want to meet this new challenge to my 811rv diet/lifestyle with grace and confidence. I want to look back at this experience with complete self-respect and pride for my accomplishments.
Thank you any and all that read my blog for your support. I look forward to sharing this journey with you.

Wow! Sounds like so much fun! And it's great that your father didn't get discouraged to take the trip despite his health issues! I also love how you planned it all out - very inspiring for future trips of mine :) Have a wonderful trip and post pictures if you can!
