My life's purpose is best described by: Be the change you want to see in the world: Gandhi. Smiling is my "botox"-FORGET THE DRUGS AND SURGERY. I spice up my life, not my diet, which is SIMPLY DELICIOUS on its own. KISS: I Keep it simple sugars-from whole, fresh, ripe, raw, organic fruits (veggies, some nuts/seeds too). The 811rv motto is: simplicity at mealtime, variety throughout the year. My motto is: I live in my own little world, but it's ok they all know me there. One of our Favourite Family Supper Feasts

My son is just amazing-he's actually way better in the kitchen than I am. We just discovered this dip recipe from the latest Vibrance issue. He made it-the whole thing and now it's one of our favourites. This was last night's supper. We started with the fruit and ended with the dipped veggies. SOOO yummy!

The recipe was created by Christina Chadney http://www.abundantapple.com

Sesame Red Pepper Dip:

Ingredients:
4 tbs raw tahini
3 tbs raw sesame seeds
3 sun-dried tomatoes (no sulfites or salt added please)
1/2 cup red bell pepper
1 stick of celery
1 cup zucchini
2 tbs lemon juice
1/4 tsp cumin (optional)

Veggies for dipping.

Blend all the sauce ingredients in a high-speed blender or food processor to a smooth, thick, creamy consistency. A nice idea would be to spoon the sauce into a cored bell pepper.

Christina also suggests thinning the recipe without the tomato and cumin and drizzling over raspberries or strawberries in Romaine lettuce "boats". I haven't tried this one yet-but when I do, I'll share the pics.

Oh this does sound great. I haven't tried the soup you posted earlier yet, but gonna do so at some point to.

I just read that your dog is raw vegan (on Swayze's blog). Wow, this is good new for me, I want to know more. I had given up having a dog because I didn't think I could bring myself to buy all the meat I thought it would take to raise one properly & no one would give me a straight answer about if I could get the dog to hunt for itself or not. I think they are just to domesticated anyway & hunting would be dirty anyway, when I like to snuggle with my pets.

I was gonna stick with the vegetarians... a family cow, a pet pig or such. But I would just love love love to have a dog in my life, I would just want to do the right things & have it thrive.

So I'm gonna go read that book you mentioned by Gillan ~

Oh I'm about to cry! I've really been struggling with this whole wanting a dog thing ... I really hope I can work it out without having to buy meat!(?)

Love
Autumn

Thank you Ecodea and Fruit Dragon!

Fruit Dragon, you've just reminded me that I have to do a post about my dogs being raw vegans. They are so healthy and wonderful. I'm going to do a video of them when it's meal time. You should see how crazy with anticipation they get at the sight of a banana! Dogs are classified as omnivores like pigs-there are millions of vegetarian dogs out there based on the sales of Purina and other brands of vegetarian dog food. They do much better on raw however-the longest living one was a 27 year old border collie that loved apples and bananas. Grains and the cooked pellets give them skin problems and the like. Personally, I think they have adapted mechanisms to better acquire and handle meat in their diet, but they haven't developed a physiological need for it(just like us). The inconvenience however is that they eliminate much more (also like us) on a raw vegan diet so they've got to be taken out more often which is a challenge.
